Our Story

Desert Rock Industries (DRI) was founded by Stetson Poolz, a skilled ironworker and fabricator with a reputation for precision, grit, and an unmatched work ethic. What began as a modest ironworking and fabrication shop in the desert quickly earned recognition for quality craftsmanship and reliability. Stetson built the company on blue-collar values, hard work, integrity, and getting the job done right the first time.

For the first decade, DRI focused primarily on structural steel, custom fabrication, and industrial metalwork. Through long hours and a hands-on approach, Stetson established a loyal client base and a strong foothold in the region’s construction industry.

After ten years of steady growth, leadership transitioned to his son, Clay Poolz, marking the beginning of a new era.

Clay saw beyond the fabrication shop, he envisioned a fully integrated infrastructure company. With a strategic mindset and aggressive expansion plan, he transformed Desert Rock Industries from a single division operation into a multi-sector powerhouse. Under his leadership, the company experienced explosive growth, increasing revenue and production output by more than seven times within a relatively short period.

Clay expanded DRI into several key divisions, allowing the company to control projects from the ground up:

innovation. While the scale of operations has grown, the core values laid down by Stetson Poolz remain 
unchanged: quality work, strong relationships, and pride in every project.
